Online Resources for Trauma Survivors
First Responders
First Responders are the heroic individuals who are called to
the scene of an accident or emergency to provide help and relief. Typically
this includes firemen, police officers, and EMT. First responders will normally
assess trauma scene conditions and hazardous materials emergencies, provide
initial protection from blood borne pathogens and other biohazards, conduct
a primary patient assessment, and transport.
Suicide Support
Suicide is a doubly tragic event both in the loss and the devastation
of family and community. It seems especially unfair that in the aftermath of
suicide it is often the family that is left to handle suicide scene cleanup.
Fortunately there are numerous resources for friends and family to help in
coping with suicide.
Funeral Management Professionals
When dealing with a death trauma, whether from violent crime, accident, or
suicide, it is important to deal with caring professionals. Funeral homes and
funeral directors can be a comfort and a good source of information and referrals
during a difficult time.
