Dorm Room Drama

What happens when you throw six drunk college guys, a quarter pound of marijuana (so we’re told) and a bunch of money riding on a ball game? A disaster.

Apparently, there is extensive damage to the furnishings: the computer and monitor are knocked over, there are busted glass windows, blood spatter, somehow, covering the walls in every room. The stereo was knocked on the ground but was still blasting out Pearl Jam. Must be one of those continuous playing CD players.

These dudes got into one helluva fight! A couple of them ended up in the Emergency Room, one is in critical condition. The others are in jail. The University isn’t one of the biggest around and doesn’t really have a bad reputation for thugs and drugs if you know what I mean.

You know you could almost laugh at some of the stuff we see but when people nearly die over a ball game, isn’t that a little extreme? Is good sportsmanship that far gone? Maybe it is, maybe I’m just that old that I’m out of the loop on college dorm drama.

I say drama when I haven’t a better word. You know dramas usually mean too many people have their nose in someone’s business or someone is stirring up trouble. I can’t feel sorry for the guys in jail. Anyway, their rich daddy will pay their bail in a day or so and they will be right back at it. The dudes in the hospital are hurt pretty bad with broken noses, broken ribs, and on it goes.

I don’t know what its like to get beaten that bad. I’ve had fist fights growing up in a rough neighborhood where lots of yelling and name calling went on. We didn’t belong to any gangs but there were gangs there. Gangs were scary stuff, too.

This Didn’t Look Like The Work Of A Gang But You Never Know For Sure

Gang violence is a very big problem in some areas. I have to admit some fights can be entertaining. Daggone, they should have videotaped this one!
