Chopped Up At Work
Who would have thought this horrendous bloody bathroom was the result of an on the job injury? The kitchen prep was chopping and prepping like crazy when the knife slipped and an employee cut off a finger!
I honestly can say I have ever seen anything like it considering all this blood for just one finger. I know we all have heard stories about someone finding a finger stub or nail in their salad at a restaurant. Well, in this case, the finger was chopped off but they were able to save it in a jar and rush the employee to the emergency room.
Unless you have actually witnessed something like this, you probably have no idea how much blood is lost. The thought is rather graphic because the blood literally gushes out of the artery and squirts out everywhere like a fountain! Not only were tons of towels soaked in blood but the entire kitchen, including countertops, had a trail of blood leading all the way to the bathroom. As you can see it is pretty bloody whichever direction you look.
People Tend To Panic In Situations Like This
People need to try and stay calm to help the victim to stay calm themselves. The other employees get a shock to their system and the owners or managers are in a panic to get things cleaned up and safe for business again. Even when it is an accident, just the thoughts of this happening to someone is not very good for business.
Some people might think just clean up the blood with good ol’ soap and water and maybe bleach. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ON YOUR OWN! Blood cleanup is not something that just anyone should clean. This restaurant called on us because there are regulations in a restaurant setting regarding cleanliness and they know we are the best. Biohazard cleanup is essential due to the pathogens and risk of contamination to others is very HIGH and has to be dealt with by a professional. ABT is very careful about following regulations set by OSHA.
