Crime Scene Cleanup

Crime Rises In Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland crime rate has been rising over the past few years at an alarming pace. Murders, suicides, double homicides, gang crimes, etc., make the news every day.

We were called in on yet another gang related murder. These crime scene cleanups are troubling partly because the victims are young and in the prime of their life. The future often isn’t very bright in the neighborhoods where these gangs are and crime is a way of life, a career if you will. A lot of these gang members come from homes with no parental guidance and are struggling to make ends meet. They know no guidance or structure to speak of so joining a gang to be apart of a “family” sounds like a good option.

Gangs are in schools, prisons, and aren’t limited to the inner city. This particular cleanup involved a seventeen year old boy who was shot while sitting on the toilet in his home. His family found him, called police who came and started the investigation and called us in for cleanup.

The boy’s mother was torn up. She kept saying his name over and over and asking “why, why?” We don’t have an answer for her, we don’t know why either. We just try to offer kindness and get in and do the job as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I have to admit these neighborhoods make me a little nervous. There’s a lot that goes on here. I hate to say I feel the hopelessness that these kids must feel when I look around.

Anyway, we come in and do our job just like we always do. I wish we could do more than just cleanup, wish we could cleanup the crime, wipe out the gangs and get these kids on a better path. But, we are limited what we can do other than the best cleanup we can.

Blood Cleanup Must Be Done By Professionally Trained Personnel

Only trained professionals know how to protect current and future inhabitants of a property as well as to ensure the safety of those cleaning blood scenes.

Blood cleanup involves the removal and cleaning or disposal of items that have been contaminated with body fluids, blood, or tissue matter, but does not stop there. Those trained in blood cleaning are adept at tracking down and remediating areas that have been contaminated – areas that the untrained eye would not see. When a firearm is used, there is often as much biohazardous material that you cannot see as there is that is visible. For the safety of a blood cleanup technician, and of future inhabitants, it is most important that this biohazardous material be decontaminated as well.
