Suicide on Macon County Line
Over near Juliette, GA just shy of the famous Macon County Line, (reminds me of the movie that came out in the seventies “Macon County Line”). In the movie they say you will never forget what happened on the Macon County Line. I had been on call that night for ABT and got the news about this suicide, so I headed that way to never forget.
John D’s sister said she had been calling family and friends of his. No one seemed to have heard from him in several days. When she walked into his apartment to check on him, she found John in a pile of blood. He had literally blown his brains out with a pistol.
She was crying and telling me about how his head looked and how it appeared that his brains were all over the room. I’m so sad for her and her family. I offer my condolences and hug the sister before heading in. They left shortly after I was let in to the apartment.
I am only one person doing a gruesome cleanup job that I hate having to witness. Yet, this is a job that has to be done by a professional and no family member should ever, ever see this let alone attempt to clean it up. I think that would be worse than just about anything.
Blood, body fluids, brain matter and body tissue are everywhere in the room where he shot himself
I literally had to pull out the dresser and clean behind it; there was more brain matter behind the dresser along with blood spatters. Even the wall is covered in blood spatters.
Blood cleanup involves the removal and cleaning or disposal of items that have been contaminated with body fluids, blood, or tissue matter, but does not stop there. Those trained in blood cleaning are adept at tracking down and re-mediating areas that have been contaminated – areas that the untrained eye would not see.
When a firearm is used, there is often as much bio-hazardous material that you cannot see as there is that is visible. For the safety of a blood cleanup technician, and of future inhabitants, it is most important that this bio-hazardous material be decontaminated as well.
Advanced Bio Treatment is the blood cleanup company that protects you and your family by doing the job with well-trained courteous employees. Whether the incident has occurred at your home, rental property or place of business, or industrial facility, you can trust our certified scene cleanup teams to do a thorough job while abiding by OSHA regulations.
