Social Media Confession
Derek Medina confesses to the world he murdered his wife via Facebook before he turns himself into the police this past August.
“I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife,” Medina wrote. “Love you guys, miss you guys, take care Facebook people. You will see me in the news.”
Following his post was a gruesome photo showing the murder of his wife, Jennifer Alfonzo. Her body was bent backwards over her knees, and her face and arms were covered in blood. The photo’s caption read, “RIP, Jennifer Alfonso.”
Interestingly enough, the photo was followed with another post by Medina. The first post stating his wife “was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse, so I did what I did. I hope you understand me.”
Police said they discovered 26-year-old Alfonso’s body inside a townhouse on 67th Avenue. A 10-year-old child was also found unharmed at the scene. Miami-Dade Police said the child was the victim’s daughter.
