Murders in New York

New York is the third most populous state in the United States with a population of over 8.3 million as of 2012.

The murder rate reported December 26, 2012 for New York was lower than in previous years with 414 homicides reported as of this date. It is estimated that suicide posed a higher rate of death this year than homicide.

Still, there have been some very gruesome acts committed in New York.

The rage of a jealous husband resulted in a deadly stabbing of his wife when he was mistakenly sent topless photos of her that she intended to send to her lover.

Micheal Kenny, age 44 was found guilty of murder. Kenny had gone to the beauty shop where his wife worked as a beautician with a knife and left Denise Kenny, age 40 for dead in a pool of blood. On his way out the door he went through the cash register. He then stole his boss’s van and took off for Maryland, but not before going through the Burger King drive thru and ordering a double cheeseburger.

This information along with crime scene photographs shown to the jury proved Kenny to be cold and uncaring. The knife used to murder his wife was broken into three pieces (pictures of which were shown to the jury) which further illustrated the blunt force of the stabbing.
