In Fresno, California we received a frenzied call to our office located near there.

The caller was requesting our services in regards to a suicide cleanup. The caller was the mother of the young girl who took her life over the weekend. She asked that we come as soon as possible because she couldn’t bear to walk past her room anymore.

Apparently the young girl had just graduated college and moved back in with her mom for a short time while she was searching for a job. Her mom had mentioned to us that her daughter had struggled with depression since she was in grade school. She seemed to be doing better but the stress of not being able to find a job and the recent break up with her fiancée must have got to her.

When we arrived at the home the mother took us to the bedroom of where the suicide had taken place. The young girl had used one of her dad’s shotguns and shot herself in the head while sitting on the ground. It was a pretty disgusting site and very upsetting for us knowing such horrific events had taken place here and all the frustration the mother must be dealing with.

There was a great deal of blood splatter on the ceiling and her bed. There wasn’t much furniture in the room since she had just moved there a few weeks prior. There was a huge puddle of blood on the carpet where her body was resting until discovered. It was heartbreaking and repulsive all at the same time.

We had to carefully remove the rug that was under her body and dispose of it properly. The mother also asked us to remove and dispose of the bed that was in there. That was the only piece of furniture and it was heavily stained with blood, and brain matter. She just didn’t want to keep anything after knowing what occurred in there. We attempted to keep the mother calm and reassured her that we would help as much as we could with funeral arrangements and the insurance company.

We can’t possibly imagine how the mother must feel having to now grieve her daughters death. This is why ABT is a compassionate company. We respect families and all the emotions involved. We want to help as much as we can and hope to take away some of the chaos happening in the affected families. Even if just us cleaning the mess brings a little bit of sanity back we are satifisied.
