Beyond Belief, Hoarding at its Worst!

As she showed off her kitchen Michelle (no last name given) was as proud as if she were a professional chef, pulling her quiche pan out of a pile of garbage stacked thigh high. She also showed off the pan she used to boil crab in which also was buried in trash. Michelle was oblivious to the debris around her.

This place Michelle called home had been sold to investors and she was given 30 days to get it cleaned out. Rats infested the home, big, little and medium size, and their droppings everywhere. Exterminators worked hard to rid the place of all of the pests that had taken over.

Cleanup professionals donned hazardous material protective wear and still couldn’t get over the endless piles of garbage and utter filth!

Michelle didn’t seem to comprehend that the home was no longer hers. She also couldn’t choose between junk and objects of value when asked to, which is a typical trait or hoarders.

Michelle’s story is appearing on TLC’s show Hoarding Buried Alive as well as the NBC Today show. Michelle appears proud of her home and the cooking she does in it although the garbage is so deep you would have to dig your way through the mess to even begin to cook or find a place to eat, if you could stand to eat with the mess. It is just that bad.

Hoarders may suffer from a brain injury or other trauma that has contributed to their state of mind.
