In the aftermath of a fairly traumatic event – a violent crime and the police response to it – you need a qualified crime scene cleanup company. We understand that you need a helping hand to clean-up the mess a crime has left in its wake and that’s why we’re here.

Sometimes this job pulls back the curtain on the darker side of the human condition. Seeing how cruel and heartless we can be towards each other, particularly over the most trivial things, is difficult to come to terms with. Life should be valued, but often it isn’t.

When the killer turns out to be someone that the victim once loved, the situation takes on an even more sinister twist which can feel like a betrayal of the worst sort.

At the beginning of the year, I received one such case. The hotel was located off the interstate outside of Baltimore, Maryland and most of the area was in the process of being what we call gentrified, or being bought up cheaply by investors who then restore and rebuild the properties to their former glory.

Pulling up, I could see that the hotel was in like new condition, and judging from the scraps of building material laying at the curb, waiting to be picked up by waste removal, it was a fairly recent development. A small man in his mid 40s, skinny and balding, met us on the stoop.

With only brief introductions, he nodded then led us into a room’s bathroom where, in the center of the room, a large pool of blood indicated that something terrible had happened.

Advanced Bio Treatment is in the crime scene cleanup business to ensure that you, your family and your hotel or property gets the protection it needs from potential biohazards – blood, body tissues, etc. During this difficult time, we’re here to ensure that you receive the competent and considerate crime scene decontamination and remediation services you deserve. Our crime scene cleanup technicians will decontaminate and remove any blood, tissue or bodily fluids a violent crime has left behind and clean-up and remediate any fingerprint dust or tear gas used during the police response.

Whether your hotel or business has become the scene of a homicide or murder, a burglary, break-in, or other violent crime, our crime scene technicians have the training and experience to thoroughly clean and decontaminate the scene.

We got straight to work. The job was relatively straightforward, but I could sense that the hotel owner really needed someone to tell him it would be ok, and the haunted look on his face was one that I recognized very well. Often our clients share with us stories that they don’t feel they can burden their families with.

The victim had been going through a nasty divorce, a young mother with her two children. The hotel owner had offered her a place to stay while she got back on her feet. Unfortunately, some people have a hard time letting go.

One night, there was a knock at the door. The hotel owner had been working in the bathroom, but had heard the young woman call back that she would answer it. A few minutes later, all Hell broke loose.

The woman began screaming for help and just as he reached the door to his room, he heard the gunshot. Throwing open the door, he watched as the estranged husband and the woman struggled over a loaded pistol that had jammed. Suddenly, the enraged man ripped the gun free and brought the weapon down hard against his wife’s head, before casting it aside and pulled a huge bowie knife from his belt.

The hotel owner stood frozen as the man began stabbing the woman over and over, until he dropped the blade and fled from the hotel. Our client immediately called 911, but it was too late… The young woman bled out in his arms, on the floor of the bathroom just across from his suite.

Although I couldn’t imagine what the hotel owner was going through, I take pride and comfort in knowing that I am erasing any evidence of the horror in the physical sense and easing the process of moving forward with a fresh beginning. In the end, the killer was picked up a days later, trying to cross the border into Canada. So his day will come. Sadly though, two children now face an uncertain future with neither parent.
