I Am Officially Grossed Out
So, if you knew today was going to be the day you were going to be found dead in your house with your brains blown out what would you do?
It crossed my mind, in a sick sort of way, geez people. How nasty are you really? Don’t you ever clean? Seriously, what kind of life do people hide behind? I’m not complaining, just venting, how gross this job is sometimes.
It’s kind of like your mother telling you to wear underwear with no holes in them in case you were in a car wreck and had to go to the hospital. Remember that?
Back to the story, this man apparently had been living in filth for quite awhile before someone came into his house and shot him. Why did he get shot? Why did it happen in the middle of the early morning hours? Who did it? I have to leave that to the detectives and the coroner to figure out.
I’m Busy Blasting Out The Smells In Here
Other companies come in and spray a little disinfectant and call it a day but ABT removes these smells. We have the training, the tools, and the effort it takes to knock it out without a hitch. I’m not exaggerating when I say the air is heavy with a greasy odor like frying french fries while smoking pot and spilling whiskey on the floor. I don’t know how else to put it. It’s just nasty. The blood is only secondary to the smell.
Even when you wear a mask and protective clothing sometimes you just can’t wait to finish the job and take a shower. My girlfriend is probably going to hide from me tonight.

She knows how bad it can be sometimes and I have to say when I walk in the door tonight I won’t be greeted with a kiss but handed a can of Lysol, that’s if she is home. More likely she will find a way to be out of the house, I sent her a text earlier warning her what I was dealing with today.
I have a strong stomach. I don’t scare easily. I’m just grossed out at the moment. This dude’s bedroom has a pentagram on the wall and lots of candles, very dark, very eerie. Kinda scary really, what the hell was he into?
Just another day at work!! Gotta take it as it comes and hopes the next one is a little easier.
