Not Just a Bad Dream; A Nightmare In Jacksonville

It was a nightmare in Jacksonville when a man was found lying in a pool of blood by his daughter. The front door was partially open, the screen was slashed. John D. was stabbed multiple times. The drawers were ransacked, belongings scattered everywhere throughout the apartment.

Was this a random robbery gone bad? Did the intruder expect there would be no one home when he broke in? Did he start by finding John D. in bed? Had there been a struggle?

These were just a few of the questions the daughter had in addition to the shock and horror from finding her father.

The mattress was saturated with blood. There’s no point in trying to salvage it. Blood was all over the carpet in the bedroom as well.

The living room was in complete shambles. The couch cushions were slashed as if they were looking for something hidden. Drugs? Who knows. From the looks of the place, John D. was an average man, no lavish furnishings or anything indicating he had a lot of money.

Crime scenes like this one remind me of those detective shows like CSI. The forensics people come in and take samples, fingerprints. After they leave we come in and start the cleanup work.
