That’s why it’s important to hire a professional scene cleaning company such as Advanced Bio Treatment with the training and experience to work with First Responders.
Whether the scene is at your home and personal property, a commercial business, or industrial site, we’ll strictly adhere to OSHA regulations and API Worksafe guidelines in our cleanup efforts and only deploy EPA registered hospital grade cleansers and disinfectants.
You need professional scene clean-up technicians to be sure that your home is truly clean. Your safety is our business. Some of the scenes we are called to deal with at ABT involve a massive amount of blood or other bodily fluids that no family member or homeowner should attempt to clean because of the dangers and health risks associated with the pathogens they contain.
Drug users who meet an untimely end can present their own challenges when it comes to making a house re-inhabitable again after a tragedy. Not only must one dispose of any left over paraphernalia like needles, but often these people can carry diseases like hepatitis or HIV that must be carefully handled by train professionals.
The calls we receive that involve intravenous drug users are often some of the most hazardous conditions that we work in, because of the chance accidental exposure to a whole host of infectious diseases. Many times at these scenes we come into contact with drug paraphernalia like used needles that may be contaminated with HIV or contain bits of material that can cause septic, or blood poisoning.
One scene we were called to restore took place at a home that had recently been purchased, sight unseen, through a foreclosure auction.
Once the new homeowner had received his keys, and has entered the property he intended to repair and resale himself, he unfortunately discovered a grisly murder, which has taken place in a back bedroom’s closet.
The home was located in a suburban neighborhood just outside of Pittsburgh, PA on a fairly quiet street full of families with children of all ages. It was told to us that it appeared that a couple of homeless youths had broken in to the property through a basement window, and that they had been using heroin, as indicated by dozens of tiny plastic baggies commonly used to transport the drug along with equally as many dirty, bloody needles that were scattered about the master bedroom.
The closet was a bloody mess. One of the youths, a female, had been found face down in a pool of her blood, from having been bludgeoned to death. The male victim was found stabbed to death in the bathtub next door in the bathroom. Bloody foot prints led out of the room, down the hallway, and out the back door.
It was apparent that whatever had happened in the house, it had been an unbelievably violent end for two, drug addicted teenagers.
It was a terrible tragedy for sure. The cleanup took place over 4 days. It began with thoroughly cleaning the home of all of the drug paraphernalia, crime scene technician leftovers, like bloody gloves, and blood soaked carpet. Next, we began the sanitation process, using only high grade cleaners and steam to totally eliminate all pathogens present at a scene to ensure the health of future residents.
We had to set up our ozone machine to wipe out the foul smell of death which lingered, and after a couple of fresh coats of paint, along with fresh carpet and padding, we called the job complete.
