Another Long Week Of Cleanup
I was totally worn out by the time we finished this last job in South Carolina.
The mother of three children had apparently really been struggling to make ends meet. We were told she was selling drugs and even had gotten into prostitution to pay the bills. That’s so horrible to think about. She was a pretty lady and her little kids are now having to do it alone.
She was apparently not dealing with the guilt of what she was doing. One of her little girls found her body after they came home from school. She had shot herself and it was very unsettling for everyone.
Doesn’t matter how many times you see these things it is still so sad. And we all feel so bad for her family.
You would think with as many organizations around that offer assistance and help that she could have been saved. At 29 years old that is too young to give up and too hard for these kids left behind.
Where was the father of these kids? Who knows. Deadbeat dads should be put in jail like any other criminal.
This was one more of the heartbreaking stories that just makes me so sad. Sometimes its hard not to think about what has happened. People sometimes ask us if we are getting used to cleaning up blood and crime scenes.
I think to a degree you get used to it as a job and you go in and do what you are supposed to do. But do you ever really get used to what has happened? No. I doubt I will ever be used to dealing with scenes where people end their own lives because they lost all hope.
If you are in a bad situation and you feel there are no answers I hope you will talk to someone and see what help is available before you decide life is not worth living and leave your children alone in this world.
ABT Has Information And Resources On Suicide
We have a lot of experience with families of the victims and we try to be as empathetic and understanding as we can and offer as much support and encouragement to them as we possibly can.
Unfortunately, we usually get there when its too late to possibly save anyone. That is very sad to us.
