After many days of seeing the worst sights you could imagine, sometimes its kind of nice to have some levitity injected into the routine.

Every now and then we’ll get a call from a hotel that has fallen prey to hoard of partiers, or after a prostitute and her pimp have either been arrested or have moved onto greener pastures.

I’ve seen some crazy things at those jobs that the movie The Hangover has nothing on Advanced Bio Treatment. In fact, we are the ones that casino called to clean up after that infamous night of debauchery.

Its not often, however, that we are called to a home by a very upset parent who came home early from a business trip to find that their house had been used as a brothel and nightclub whilst they were out of town.

The home was located in a very charming, middle class neighborhood just outside of Columbus, Georgia and the call had come out from our Atlanta office so it took a bit of a drive to get there.

Once inside, I couldn’t believe my eyes. This kid had been busy…

It looked like they had been hosting a spring break party in Las Vegas by the amount of trash that was strung about everywhere. There was so many red plastic cups thrown around all over the place that it looked like there had been a gathering of massive proportions.

The bathrooms had been hit hard. Mud, urine, condoms, and feces littered the floor. The toilets had been stopped up and were overflowing with soiled toilet paper. Someone had gotten sick in the bathtub and sink in both bathrooms and evidence of drug activity was present on the counter tops and in the trash.

There were holes that had been knocked into the dry wall and wet paper towels had been thrown against the ceiling and now hung down like stalagmites in a cave.

The kitchen was absolutely destroyed. The door to the fridge hung off of its hinges, and the food inside had been knocked around so that some of it now leaked down the side of the appliance along with the melting ice from the freezer above. In the oven, someone had tried to cook both a pizza, with no success, and a speaker, with great success. In the garbage disposal we found the lawn gnome that had been reported missing by the next door neighbor.

If it had been my child, I would have killed him. But on second thought, I’d just end up cleaning that up too. Either way, this home was wrecked. I’d never seen anything like it. The kid must’ve had an excellent plan for getting out of that pickle.

But he didn’t. We did.

The job lasted for about four days and mostly involved removing random items from hide and seek locations. We removed over two hundred, thats two zeros people, bags of trash, mostly bottles and plastic cups. The bathrooms were the toughest part of the job and took a day each. After the biohazardous waste was removed, it was a matter of cleaning up the aftermath and sanitizing the home. Then we just broadened our scope, and decontaminated the rest of the home and garage, finally using an Ozone Machine to eliminate the weird odors on a molecular level.

At the end we had a very happy homeowner and father. We had totally erased any signs of the ordeal that he had to go through. The kid on the other hand… he was never heard from again. just kidding
