One night we received a call to our local office in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida about a double homicide that took place in downtown. Being prepared for the unknown 365 days of the year 24 hours of the day is part of our job.
The caller was the homeowner and she was explaining the situation more and it was pretty shocking to say the least. She said that she was on the upper level of the home when she heard a lot of commotion and gun shots on the bottom level. She had just rented out her spare room to a younger male and his two friends.
Apparently the homeowner’s new roommates were drug dealers and made sure to hide that from her.
She could over hear arguments about money, then she heard screaming and gunshots. She told us that she was terrified for her life and wouldn’t come downstairs until the Police arrived.
A call to 911 was placed as soon as she heard the gunshots but when EMT’s and Law Enforcement arrived two of the men were already deceased and the other had fled.
She told us that she had never seen so much blood or have been apart of such a horrific event.
We made sure to arrive at her home as soon as we could. No one wants blood all over their living room and to relive the already horrendous events. Getting your life back to normal and alleviate some of the stress involved is one of our highest priorities..
We walked inside and what we saw was sickening. There was an immense amount of blood, tissue matter and bodily fluids splattered throughout the living room, hallway and front door area.
It took us over 10 hours to decontaminate the home of all human blood, body fluids and tissues.
We made sure the sanitize and deodorize multiple times before completing the job. The home was good as new and knowing that the homeowner had a little piece of mind gives us the drive to keep practicing our unique trade.
