There is more to this picture than meets the eye.
This time we didn’t share the body tissue and brain matter pictures. Sometimes just the picture is enough.
Every day we are called to perform a clean up of some sort and with every job is a story, often horribly heartbreaking.
Some of these scenes are results of anger out of control. Some are accidents due to carelessness or freak accidents. Suicides, homicides, death, drug overdoses, family or domestic disputes. On and on and on it goes.
To do this work you have to have a strong stomach that can keep working in spite of the sickening smell of blood or whatever you come across. You may hold back the tears or let them spill in your protective eyewear, or vomit in your mask as some often do.
Do you look at the pictures and turn your head away because its so bad you can’t stand to look at it. Remember then, someone saw it before you likely a family member or friend. And then us. We are the cleanup crew and sometimes its all we can do to keep on doing what has to be done.
This is not for everyone but it has to be done nonetheless.
ABT has a team of professionals who work hard and do an efficient job that is necessary. We are trained to be empathetic and supportive to folks in the worst of times.
Blood cleanup must be done by professionally trained blood cleanup personnel in order to protect current and future inhabitants of a property as well as to ensure the safety of those cleaning blood scenes.
Blood cleanup involves the removal and cleaning or disposal of items that have been contaminated with body fluids, blood, or tissue matter, but does not stop there. Those trained in blood cleaning are adept at tracking down and remediating areas that have been contaminated – areas that the untrained eye would not see. When a firearm is used, there is often as much biohazardous material that you cannot see as there is that is visible. For the safety of a blood cleanup technician, and of future inhabitants, it is most important that this biohazardous material be decontaminated as well.
