Crime is everywhere, unfortunately, family are most often the victims.
An Atlanta mother and two of her children were brutally stabbed to death in their home. Eugene McCoy, age 21, was charged with the murder and brutal assault of his mother and two siblings, one of his sisters escaped and called police.
The family members were stabbed to death. Sadly, this was not the first incidence of crime against his family. McCoy has a long history of violence and attacks against his family, so much so that his mother had taken out a restraining order against him.
A bloody knife was found at the crime scene, however, 12 hours after the incident, a second bloody knife was found which was missed by police during the investigation at the home.

What causes crime in families? Some experts speculate that the absence of the father in the home leads to an increase in juvenile crime and in neighborhoods where the absences of fathers is common.
Studies indicate most delinquents have been abandoned by their fathers. Paternal authority is critical to the prevention of psychopathology. There are other contributing factors such as rejection by other children, failure in school, etc., but the role of the father is a major factor.
In another unrelated incident in the Atlanta area a family of four were found dead in their home. Police determined this to be a murder suicide. Two children, ages 12 and 5 were found to have died from sharp blows to the neck while their mother, age 47, died from a severe blow to the head. The father’s body, age 52 was found hanging. There has not been any reason found for the murder suicide at this point.
