Remember the days when you played outside on the merry go round, the swings and the slides at recess? Or when you parents took you to the park and you played skip to my lou and jumped rope and sang little songs like “Oh Little Playmate?”

Oh little playmate, come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three
climb up my apple tree
slide down my rainbow into my cellar door
and we’ll be jolly friends for ever more, more, more……

Sadly, school playgrounds are not open to the public any more. There was a time when you could go after school and play until your heart’s content. Nowadays there are padlocks on the fence locking the playgrounds up when school isn’t in session.

Parks are still open to the public but unfortunately in reality many parks are hangouts for people who are on the prowl to meet people, or lure children. Parks and playgrounds are places people go to play and some go to think.

And some go to kill themselves. Recently ABT professionals were called to a gruesome suicide scene at a playground. Blood had dripped onto the mulch below from the wooden play area. Blood stained the wooden equipment, apparently the victim shot themselves at the playground for who knows what reason.

The blood stained wood had to be cut with a chainsaw and removed in the cleanup process.

What would make someone do this to themselves and why would they choose a place that to many is a pleasant childhood memory?

In an unrelated yet similar case, Jadin Bell, age 15, committed suicide at a playground. Jadin had been the victim of bullying both at school and outside of school. He was a cheerleader. He was LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender).

In another sad incidence a 9 year old child took his life after being bullied at school for being white. He was threatened by an Asian with a plastic knife, and hid many times on the playground in fear of bullies who had taunted him with remarks such as “all white people should be dead.”

We can only speculate what led to the suicide at the playground that our team of professionals from ABT were hired to cleanup.

What we do know is suicide for any reason is an extremely traumatic experience. Bullying for any reason should be stopped in its tracks. And family members should never try to deal with these horrible cleanup situations on their own.

ABT professionals are available 24/7 in Florida, Georgia, Washington DC, New York , Kentucky and other states.

We sincerely hope you never have need for our death scene or blood cleanup services, but if you do, we can help you through.
