Five year old child escapes from Double Murder-Suicide

Frederick County, Maryland, just 40 miles west of Baltimore, police found Ben Asefa, age 40, Barbara Giomarelli age 42, and 3 month old Samuel Asefa dead.

The other family member, a five year old little girl managed to escape the horrific bloody scene and safely escape to her neighbors.

The little girl is said to have hidden from her adult parents who were arguing. Authorities have found what they believe to be the murder weapon used to shoot the father, mother and baby of this family. The bodies have been taken in for autopsy.

In an unrelated incident a Danvers, MD a 14 year old high school student has been charged as an adult in the death of math teacher Colleen Ritzer.

Ms. Ritzer was brutally attacked by Philip Chism after she had requested he stay after school to study for an upcoming math exam. Police have not yet found a motive as to why the teen followed the teacher into the second floor restroom, punched her in the face, allegedly raped her and slit her throat. Apparently he used a recycling bin to haul her body to the woods.

Ms. Ritzer was loved by her students and fellow faculty members. Her family said she had dreamed of life in the classroom.

Chism had moved from Tennessee with his family over the summer. He showed no emotion in Salem District Court where he has been ordered held without bail for the murder of the teacher.

The cleanup of a murder scene involves the removal and cleaning or disposal of items that have been contaminated with biohazardous materials such as body fluids, blood, or tissue matter, but does not stop there.

Those trained in homicide and crime scene cleaning are adept at tracking down and remediating areas that have been contaminated – areas that the untrained eye would not see.

When a firearm is used, there is often as much material that you cannot see as there is that is visible. For the safety of a homicide cleanup technician, and of future inhabitants, it is most important that this material be decontaminated as well.
